Surfactant is a kind of substance that can greatly reduce the surface (interfacial) tension of solvent (generally water is the standard solvent) when a small amount of it is added, change the interface composition and structure of the system, and become an im portant means for people to change the interface properties to meet various requirements.
BS ISO 19619:2018 specifies the analytical procedure for the determination of free propylene oxide in surfactants synthesized from propylene oxide copolymers. This method is applicable to the qualitative and quantitative determination of propylene oxide groups in propylene oxide adducts, polyethers and polyethylene glycol esters by headspace gas chromatography (HS-GC) and flame io nization detector (FID) ba sed on external procedures. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is used for co nfirmation purposes.
