BS ISO 19619:2018 specifies the analytical procedure for the determination of free propylene oxide in surfactants synthesized from propylene oxide copolymers. This method is applicable to the qualitative and quantitative determination of propylene oxide groups in propylene oxide adducts, polyethers and polyethylene glycol esters by headspace gas chromatography (HS-GC) and flame ionization detector (FID) based on external procedures. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is used for confirmation purposes.
