Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. proposed a new method for the determination of trace styrene in air. Methods Styrene in air was collected by activated carbon tube, desorbed by carbon disulfide, and separated by 3% PEG-600/101 column. Results The method has high sensitivity, the detection limit is 3×10-3 μg/ml, the linear relationship is good in the range of 0.05~5 μg/ml, the correlation coefficient is r0.999, the precision is high, the coefficient of variation CV% is 5%, and the average recovery rate is 79.7 %. Conclusion The method is simple, rapid, highly sensitive, accurate and reliable, and suitable for the determination of styrene in air.
