將醋酸、異丙醇和濃硫酸加入搪瓷釜，攪拌下加熱回流10h以上，降溫后用碳酸氫鈉或碳酸鈉飽和溶液中和pH值7～8，用飽和食鹽水溶液洗滌，再用水洗滌，靜置分去水層后，用無水硫酸鈉或硫酸鎂進行干燥，過濾后加入精餾塔進行精餾，收集85～95℃的餾分，即為成品。

精制方法：常含有水、乙酸和異丙醇等雜質(zhì)。精制時于100mL酯中加入50g碳酸鉀，充分搖動以除去酸。再用濃的氯化鈣溶液洗滌除去醇，無水氯化鈣干燥1晝夜后蒸餾。

1.主要用作涂料、印刷油墨等的溶劑，也是工業(yè)上常用的脫水劑，藥物生產(chǎn)中的萃取劑及香料組分；

2.主要用作藥物的提取溶劑、涂料溶劑、印刷油墨溶劑、化學(xué)反應(yīng)溶劑等。該品呈水果香氣，稀釋后有蘋果香氣，天然品存在于菠蘿、梨、可可等中，是中國GB2760-86規(guī)定為允許使用的食用香料。主要用以配制朗姆酒香精和水果型香料的溶劑。
